Live Online Sessions 2026-2027 Schedule

All times are in Pacific Time (San Francisco/Los Angeles)

What the TOP Program Provides

Teach Empowering Safety Skills to Kids

The Kidpower Training of Practitioners (TOP) program is an online professional training that prepares educators, counselors/therapists, parents, and youth-serving leaders to teach effective and empowering personal safety and positive communication skills to children and youth.

In each live, monthly skills practice sessions, you  learn from talented trainers how to present and coach skills to children, youths, and their adults in ways that support your success at leading Kidpower lessons that build your students' confidence, competence and reduce their anxiety.

Use Time-Tested Teaching Methods & Tools

Each topic also includes an illustrated workbook, videos showing how skills are taught, and additional resources. You can join anytime and will receive ongoing support in how to use these lessons with your students, clients, organization, school, or family.

Gain proficiency in using the Kidpower Positive Practice Method - so you can confidently coach young people to set and respect boundaries, stay safe from bullying and hurtful words, recognize and move away from trouble, persist in getting help, and make wise choices to prevent and solve problems with people.

Training Options & Costs - Choose 1 of 3

Choose from three training pathways. Start anytime. The ongoing enrollment process includes the opportunity to discuss which pathway is best for you. No matter when you begin, you will still cover every topic in the full series.

Once enrolled, receive immediate access to videos, workbooks, and ongoing email support in how to teach the safety skills. Each training option includes live, monthly, trainer-led skills practice sessions. Live sessions run from September through June (paused in July and August).
Take the Auditor Pathway. Pay $200/month for 12 months ($2,400)
This will give you the opportunity to:
  • Practice in all the live sessions where you can practice skills with experienced Kidpower trainers
  • Learn the Kidpower Positive Practice Method so you can teach the skills yourself
  • Access videos, workbooks, and other training resources on your own time for a full year (12 months) from the time of registration
  • Gain the tools and knowledge you need to teach Kidpower skills to your family, friends, clients, and schools/youth organizations
Take the Program Completion Pathway. Pay $300/month for 12 months ($3,600)
This option includes everything in the Auditor Pathway as well as:
  • Ongoing support in completing assignments every month
  • Greater proficiency in teaching the skills and using them to solve different problems
  • A Certificate of Completion that you can use to document your hours of participation in the TOP Program
  • On request, get an additional 12-month access to the training materials for a total of 24-months from the time of registration, at no extra charge.
Take the Authorized Practitioner Pathway. Pay $4,300 (payment plans available)
For those wishing to become qualified as a Certified Kidpower Instructor (or become an Authorized Provider) and teach within Kidpower International auspices. This option includes everything in the Auditor and Program Completion pathways, plus opportunities to:
  • Experience live online workshops with real students
  • Ongoing access to materials and live sessions until certification has been reached
  • Receive mentoring from a senior trainer
  • Work toward qualification as a Certified Instructor / Authorized Provider
