Common Problems at Work
As Told by People with Disabilities

Brandi
Workpower Advisory Council Member & Co-Presenter
Brandi has been involved with Workpower since 2023 after experiencing one of our workshops organized by the Autism Society.
Brandi co-presents in live online Safetypowers workshops in addition to presenting Workpower lessons and serving on the Workpower Advisory Council.
Brandi offers perspectives she has gained as a woman who is Hard Of Hearing, has disabilities affecting her mobility and her learning.
Brandi's employment experience includes working with the California State Council of Developmental Disabilities San Bernardino office, and she currently leads art classes and is working on establishing her own small business.

Brian
Workpower Advisory Council Member & Co-Presenter
Brian’s experiences as a person with Autism inform his contributions in content discussions. He has a keen understanding of challenges workers who have disabilities often encounter with colleagues.
He is quick to spot sections that will be more effective if they are shortened and to speak up about sections that seem unclear.

Linda
Workpower Advisory Council Member & Co-Presenter
In addition to helping guide the development of new training modules, Linda works with Erika to co-write presenter scripts for all Workpower Strategies for Employers training modules.
Linda draws extensively on her decades of experience working in medical and educational fields while navigating her gradual, now almost complete, loss of sight. Linda also holds a Masters degree in psychology.

Natalie
Workpower Advisory Council Member & Co-Presenter
Natalie brings insights gained as a job seeker and worker with Down Syndrome who relies on urban transit systems - as well as apps needed to use them - in order to get to/from work.
She has navigated the challenges of bias and assumptions in the workplace and brings those perspectives to the Council’s development of new modules. Natalie joined the Council in 2024.

Nanna
Workpower Advisory Council Member & Co-Presenter
Namrata “Nanna” has 17 years of work experience and joined as an Advisory in 2024, after participating in one of our workshops. Nanna is also a Workpower video lesson presenter. In her Workpower Advisor role, Nanna offers valuable input in the development of educational resources we design for workers and employers.
Nanna speaks two languages, English and Hindi. She loves playing sports and is a strong team player – bringing her energy and teamwork skills to Workpower! Her diligence, engagement, and follow-through in upholding commitments and agreements makes her a powerful addition to our team.

Lucy
Workpower Advisory Council Member & Co-Presenter
A relatively new member to the Workpower Advisory Council, Lucy was one of the first Safetypowers Ambassadors and has been practicing these skills since 2022.
Lucy has intellectual disabilities and is particularly interested in strategies that workers and supervisors can use together to create systems to to support a worker’s success.

Neshama
Workpower Advisory Council Member & Co-Presenter
Neshama’s careful questioning about all non-technical aspects of each training module - such as word choice, pacing, sound quality, and story line progression - provides strong direction for the Council overall.
Neshama co-creates scripts with Erika and reviews module presenter scripts co-created by Erika and Linda to suggest edits. Neshama is autistic and sensory processing challenges and offers extensive input from the perspective of living with invisible disabilities.

Angel
Workpower Advisory Council Member & Co-Presenter
Angel, who is blind, is a confident contributor at every step of the module development process, from conceptualizing to performing to presenting to speaking publicly about the resource and its benefits to business.

Otto
Workpower Advisory Council Member & Co-Presenter
As the newest Council member, Otto does not yet appear in videos. Otto plans to be a Workpower for Employers presenter and roleplay participant.
As a multi-modality communicator who does not use speech, Otto brings new perspectives to the Advisory Council and has already made significant contributions impacting content.
